I think it should be a standard building rule that every home built in a place where it snows or at least gets cold, should have at minimum, one fireplace. It only makes sense that there would be a place in the home to warm cold feet after playing outside in the snow or snuggle around with loved ones sipping hot cocoa. But most importantly, a place to hang stockings with care at Christmas time.

Unfortunately, whoever designed our home had a different opinion, so we’re left to warm our feet by space heater, sip our mugs around the microwave and hang our stockings from a floating shelf we like to call “the mantel”. So it’s with a little jealousy and a lot of joy that we bring to you day ten.

On the Tenth day of Christmas, may you inspired be, by ten rockin’ mantels
Nine splendid stockings
Eight glitzy garlands
Seven festive branches
Six elves a wrapping
Five feathered wreaths
Four well-read trees
Three artsy “tutes”
Two tree toppers
And a pillow bow (the final cost is free).
We’ll start off our mantel envy tour with Brittany’s wood filled fireplace. She’s also dressed up the whole look with some festive antlers surrounded by wreaths.

Continuing on with the antler theme, two more awesome mantels stood out to me. First, there’s this one by The Yellow Cape Cod featuring these awesome stockings from Ballard Designs.

And then there’s this cool pine cone and antler mantel that’s so perfectly rustic from Fun to Funky. The mantel jealousy continues…

Christmas decor isn’t ever quite complete without something from Centsational Girl – this time her white and green mantel made ready for the Christmas Ideas issue of BHG.

I love the over-reaching greenery on this mantel from Country Living.

Nothing tops off a year of our own pallet projects like looking at this fantastic one from The House of Belonging.

Martha Stewart showed off a snow-dusted mantel.

Busting out red carnations was the key to dressing up this very festive arrangement of wreaths and ornament balls by BHG.

While this room doesn’t look like it would hold up to my kids, the whole space is fantastic and inviting. the Mantel is so simple but perfect. (source: Pinterest)
